How this is calculated

Your current annual loss is the number of bags damaged each month, multiplied by the average retail price of a bag, multiplied by the share of that price you give up when you mark one down.

Recovered value applies the same math to only the bags you tell us are repairable, then subtracts the cost of the patches consumed at one patch per bag.

Nothing here is padded with an assumption you can’t see. Every input is yours to change, and the result should still hold up when you set them conservatively.
